Four full days in Quebec City was more than enough for Kay and I to wonder nearly every major street around and up the hill to the iconic Chateau Frontenac Hotel built on a dominating location overlooking the city. No city picture would be complete without its image in the viewfinder. We even managed to escape the old city walls to explore several local neighborhoods and to hike up Montmorency Falls. On a daily basis, we averaged nearly 9 miles of walking with lots of uphill action and stairs given the topography of Cape Diamond, on which the city is built. I found Quebec to be charming and appealingly walkable, especially on warm evenings when outdoor diners overtook the walkways filling the air with dinner chatter and aromas. Here's some of my favorites.
My first experience with blogging was to document and share my adventures during a 2008 loaded bike tour across the U.S. on the Southern Tier route organized by the Adventure Cyclist Association; see links below. My intentions now are to share events and pictures with family, friends and whomever may be interested. I'm into cycling, hiking, birding, and just general travel, both locally and afar when possible. On any given day and more often than not, I will be out cycling. Being a shutterbug at times, a blog like this is also the perfect medium to show some pictures. Some of my older pictures are located at “pbase.com”. Hope you enjoy it. Herb
